Be Sure to Get the CURRENT Hardware Version, (What's this?) My recent purchase of this dual parallel card was returned as it was not the current hardware version. That may or may not be significant to you, but the sole reason for my purchasing this card now was that the older hardware version does NOT work with many new motherboards. Lava does not note the updated hardware in any way on its package, nor does Amazon. But the older hardware does not function with some newer motherboards.
That said, I have and have happily used for many years an older dual parallel card in an older PC. It provides 2 fully functional parallel ports. Once setup, I never had problems with it since in my older PC. That gave me THREE parallel ports for all the printers & scanners I cared to use.
